Current Custody and Jail Services
For current custody, bond questions, or jail operations, contact Pottawatomie County Jail at (785) 457-3707. The jail and Sheriff’s Office are at 108 N. 1st St., Westmoreland, KS 66549. The Sheriff’s Office is open around the clock; published administrative hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays. Call before visiting because schedules and access rules can change.
Reports and Booking Photos
Use the Sheriff’s records-request page or call Records at (785) 457-1589 for a report, booking record, or booking-photo request. Mail goes to Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, P.O. Box 250, Westmoreland, KS 66549. The posted policy accepts requests in person, by mail, or by fax and says email requests or delivery are unavailable. Include a name, date, case or booking number if known, arresting agency, and the exact item sought. Release is subject to agency review under Kansas law.
Dispatch and City Police
For non-emergency Sheriff dispatch, call (785) 457-3353. A Wamego incident report may begin with Wamego Police at (785) 456-9553, while St. Marys Police lists administration at (785) 437-2311 and non-emergency dispatch at (785) 321-1911. Westmoreland is Sheriff-covered in the KBI agency table. City incident records and county jail booking records may be held by different offices.
Court, State, and Federal Records
For the outcome of a county criminal case, use the Pottawatomie County District Court and the Kansas district-court portal. For Kansas state custody or supervision, use KASPER. Kansas VINE provides custody notifications, not booking photos. Federal sentenced custody belongs with the BOP locator, and ICE custody has a separate detainee locator. None replaces the county jail line.
Corrections and Removal Requests
